Simon Nelson Jazz Jukebox

Simon Nelson


Simon Nelson has been a professional guitarist for nearly 30 years and, in fact, likes to boast that he has never had a “proper job”. Simon has lived and toured all over the world spending time in the USA, Australia, Europe and Bermuda.

Initially self taught, he later felt he ought to “know” something about music, and took a Bachelor of Music degree at Goldsmiths College, a Master of Arts at City University and a Ph. D in Ethnomusicology at City University.

As a session musician Simon has recorded for the ABC in Australia, and the BBC in the UK. He has recently played Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Belfast and Newcastle Arenas the Albert Hall and the O2 Arena. Simon has played guitar with Joss Stone, Ms. Dynamite, Heather Small, Lee Ryan (Blue), Alexandra Burke, Beverley Knight, Paul Jones (Manfred Mann), Candi Staton, Dana, Mavis Staples, Jocelyn Brown and Helen Shapiro.

Simon plays original music with his co-writer / brother Steve Nelson www.nelsonbrothers.co.uk. The two brothers are also currently playing in a band called Sadie and the Hotheads with Oscar and Emmy nominated actress (Ordinary People, Once Upon a Time in America, Downton Abbey) Elizabeth McGovern. www.sadieandthehotheads.com. Sadie and the Hotheads recently embarked on a UK tour with Big Country and appeared at The Isle of Wight Festival.

Raul D'Olivera and Steve Gregory

Steve Gregory - Saxophone


Steve Gregory played that legendary sax line on George Michael’s hit Careless Whisper (‘nuff said!)

He has also played with Alan Price, The Rolling Stones (on Honky Tonk Woman), Fleetwood Mac, Georgie Fame, Geno Washington, Chris Rea, Alison Moyet, Wet Wet Wet and Van Morrison.

He released his first solo album, an acid/jazz/fusion set, Bushfire, on LKJ Records featuring Georgie Fame and John Deacon from Queen.
Raul D’Olivera - Trumpet

Raul has played with Elton John, The Blues Band, Mica Paris, The Proclaimers, Gary Moore, Joan Armatrading and Mike Oldfield.

Neil Sidwell

Neil Sidwell - Trombone


Neil has toured the world and recorded with Robbie Williams, Blur, Elton John, George Michael, Wet Wet Wet, Curiosity Killed The Cat, Wham, Carmel, Ian Drury, The Three Degrees, Incognito and The Duke Ellington Orchestra

… and the list just keeps growing…

Danica  Chapman

Danica Chapman - Vocals


Originally from Australia, Danica began her passion for singing at the age of 10 when she recorded her first album.

After completing her first degree majoring in Dramatic Studies she went on to perform in several bands in and around Australia and New Zealand, collaborating and recording with many artists across a variety of genres.

Since moving to London in 1999 Danica has worked with artists such as Daniel Bedingfield, Gloria Gaynor, Hazel Fernandez (Jamiriquai), Wayne Hernandez (Blur, Gorillaz), Elizabeth McGovern (Downtown Abbey) as well as supporting many famous acts including Sting at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Go West and Macy Gray.

She has also worked in several top function bands catering to the private and corporate function circuit playing in venues all over the UK and Europe and Internationally in Dubai, Israel and Mexico. She is also a highly respected session singer for TV and Radio including sessions for producer Trevor Horn.

She recently completed a B.Mus at London Centre of Contemporary Music and is currently collaborating and co-writing with a number of exciting new artists as well as writing her first solo album.

Roger Evan

Roger Evan - Piano


Roger has been playing Jazz, pop and classical piano for many years both as a solo artist, in small jazz ensembles and larger function bands.

As well as many gigs in regular bands and as a freelance session musician, Roger has played alongside artists including Carleen Anderson, Pee Wee Ellis, and Marcella Detroit.

Lindsay Goodhand

Lindsay Goodhand - Vocals & Sax


Lindsay trained at Kingston University and Trinity School of Music.

As a singer and multi-instrumentalist, Lindsay’s theatre credits include Cinderella, Sweet Charity, Laughter In The Rain (The Neil Sedaka Story).

She’s also appeared in the Bacharach Songbook, UK Pink Floyd Experience, An Evening with David Hasselhoff.  On television, she has performed with David Hasselhoff on ITV's This Morning, and with Rod Stewart on ITV's Piers Morgan's Life Stories.
